While some have resorted to using bearings from Brazilian and Mexican manufacturers, their inconsistent quality and frequent deviation from required specifications often lead to premature engine failure and improper assembly. The industry trend towards new engine cases, crankshafts, and connecting rods has further exacerbated this issue, pushing suppliers to focus solely on standard size bearings and neglect the production of crucial oversize and thrust cut variations. This forces enthusiasts into the costly purchase of all-new components or the risky compromise of using ill-fitting bearings on new parts, jeopardizing long-term engine reliability and potentially driving people away from the hobby. Timeless Tech Engineering is dedicated to reversing this trend by producing high-quality, cost-effective main bearings in the necessary range of sizes, ensuring a consistent supply to keep these beloved air-cooled VWs on the road.
